Designed for 2nd-grade art students but perfect all the way to middle school students learn about Bwa African masks before designing their own symmetrical pattern mask. Students are introduced to artwork from Burkina Faso with Bwa masks. Students apply inspiration from the masks to create their own symmetrical mask drawing that incorporate shapes, lines, and color to create patterns.
