Introduce your elementary art or middle school art students to the art of stop motion animation with this intro to animation project. Designed for 2nd grade and older art students (or adapt for younger students), teach your students about the process of creating a stop-motion movie using sandy to draw a line design that magically appears and disappears.
This stop motion animation project is the perfect way to bring technology into your art class. All you need for this project is an iPad or smartphone and basic art supplies. Students get to put their own style into their stop motion animation movie by designing a line design to include in the animation using sand or cornmeal.
