This 1st grade art, elementary art lesson is geared toward younger elementary art students. This art lesson pack focuses on color mixing and pattern to create a Pointillism pear painting. Students are introduced to primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors, and creating the illusion of form.

Students draw a pear shape by overlapping two circles, adding a steam, leaf, curved lines, and erasing lines inside the shape. They add color using a Q-tip dipped in paint to create a pointillism painting. Through this elementary art lesson,n they create green, blue-green, and yellow-green by layering yellow and blue dots.

In addition to learning about color mixing elementary art, students also learn about shadows, highlights, and creating an illusion of form. This fun, one-day art project is packed with content and easy to create.
