Description
This beginning drawing unit is geared towards upper elementary, middle, and high school art students. I teach it as the first art unit of the year in my Introduction to Art course, it teaches an important technical base for other drawing techniques to build off of.
Teach a well-rounded visual art unit on the contour line using these three drawing-based lesson plans. Designed for middle and high school art students, these lessons introduce the concept of focusing on lines and shapes, rather than the object, drawing from life, and drawing an in-depth, realistic contour line drawing.
This contour line unit includes three lessons:

- Lesson plan with big idea, objectives, national standards, supply list, vocabulary, step-by-step teachers instructions, and more.
- Presentation on learning how to draw what you see, not what you know
- 2 printable face/vase worksheets
- 3 upside down drawing worksheets
- Assignment checklist
✴Contour lines and drawing from life:
- Lesson plan with big idea, objectives, national standards, supply list, vocabulary, step-by-step teachers instructions, and more.
